Isolation: Blissful or Dreadful?

In this phase, when the whole world is threatened by COVID 19, self isolation has been considered as the first and last hope to protect and save lives. However, the people have been found to be far more disturbed by isolation rather than impact of coronavirus alone.

In free times, scrolling over the videos and news, i could sense restlessness in people with the thought of staying home as if they have been imprisoned. This makes me wonder, “where does this anxiety come from?” Is it the idea of staying home or the idea of spending time with yourself which is killing people subconsciously.

The root to this problem is that we have conditioned ourselves in such a way that we think surrounding ourselves with people, work or technology is the only means of survival. Running away from yourself, your problems or unstoppable and irrelevant thoughts has pictured isolation as being a sin today, empowering people to give this a title of “Being bored”.

But this isn’t actually what you are perceiving. Take this as an opportunity to know yourself, explore your identity, discover your inner-self, open yourself to peace, calmness and stillness within you. Quarantine would not only defend you from virus, rather it could be an instrument that would help us to discover ourselves, which we might have been ignoring or delaying before due to so called Busy Life.

Now, what do you actually need to do for knowing yourself more?

To begin with, do schedule self introductory sessions with yourself. For instance, ask yourself what do you like and what not? What are your strengths? What are your weaknessss or fears? What do you expect from yourself? How can you bringforth your personal growth?

Secondly, take down notes for the same in order to trace your progress in the future.

Thirdly, plan practical sessions for yourself to work upon your personality, with that being either reading a book to yourself, accomplishing any hobby left undone behind, meditating, exercising, grooming yourself and so on.

Lastly, implement your plans and stay consistent to bring noticeable positive drifts in your inner being.

I assure that spending a quality hour or two with yourself and giving you your own individual space would uplift your moral and discover everything from treasures hidden within, which you might have been searching from external world till now.

All the best, stay healthy and meet yourself😊.

Ironically, its the time when we need to take care of ourselves the most, but we are least likely to. We still want to go out. We can do many activities at home which we never thought of before. It can be anything from reading books, gardening, learning some dance steps or meditation or writing stories for example. I am personally enjoying this time. 😊
